Festo Didactic - Festo Training\r\n\r\nIntroduction to Programable Logic Controllers\r\n\r\nDesigned to give delegates an introduction to PLC controlled systems, the course aims to familiarise them with the associated equipment and terminology,as well as the writing and implementation of simple programs.\r\n\r\nThe course covers writing programs on a PC, downloading to a PLC, connecting the relevant hardware devices and running the program.\r\n\r\nOperation is monitored and faults identified on-line. Programs are written in both Ladder Diagram and Statement List format and particular attention is paid to documentation.\r\n\r\nA strong emphasis is placed on safety and appropriate working practices throughout the course, especially during the practical sessions.\r\n\r\nTraining Outcomes\r\nOn completion of this course, participants will be able to:\r\n\r\nUnderstand characteristics of control systems \r\nUnderstand logic and memory functions \r\nStructure programs for PLC\'s \r\nUnderstand components of PLC\'s such as central processing unit, inputs/outputs, timers etc. \r\nMake effective use of preprograming documentation \r\nUnderstand ladder diagram PLC programs \r\nUnderstand statement PLC programs \r\nConstruct simple controlapplications \r\nProgram PLC\'s\r\nN.B. Course contents are only a guide and will be covered as far as time permits.\r\n\r\nTarget Group\r\nPersonnel who require knowledge of the construction and operation of a PLC system.\r\n\r\nPrevious knowledge\r\nA basic knowledge of control technology is advantageous.
