Kiepe \r\n\r\nBelt misalignment monitoring\r\nfor bucket elevators\r\nSBW

Product Description

Kiepe Belt Misalignment Switches SBW are used in bucklet elevator\r\ninstallations for monitoring the true tracking of the elevators\r\nbelt. The switches will operate if the belt exceeds the permissible\r\ndeviation from the nominal tracking. The switch´s output signal\r\nenergizes the connected control units to stop the elevator in\r\norder to avoid spillage of material, severe damage and serious\r\ndowntime.\r\nOperation\r\nThe monitoring of the true tracking of the buckets is realized by\r\nmounting a pair of inductive proximity switches near the\r\nheadpulley on the carrying side and another pair located near\r\nthe tailpulley on the return side. Misalignment of the buckets\r\nbecomes detected as soon as a bucket mistracks into the sensing\r\nzone of the proximity switch.\r\nThe sensing distance of the inductive proximity switches is\r\nadjustable by means of a potentiometer accessible from the\r\nsensor´s surface. A LED indicates when the sensor´s oscillator\r\nfield is interfered by a bucket. All switches can be programmed\r\nfrom NO to NC.\r\n\r\nt e c h n i c a l d a t a\r\n\r\nDevice complies with IEC 947-1\r\nEN 50081-1\r\nEN 50082-2\r\nMounting Non-f lush mounting\r\nOperating voltage DC-Version: 15 … 60 V\r\nAC-Version: 20 … 250 V\r\nLoad current 400 mA\r\nSurge current 4 A (AC- type)\r\nMinimum load current 8 mA (AC- type)\r\nHysteresis ~ 10 % sn\r\nAmbient temperature - 20 °C … + 70 °C\r\nProtection IP 67\r\nSwitching frequency AC: 25 Hz, DC: 100 Hz\r\nConnecting cable DC: 3 x 0.50 mm2, length: approx. 2 m\r\nAC: 2 x 0.75 mm2, length: approx. 2 m\r\nOutput c ircuit DC - PNP - NC / NO - programmable\r\nAC - NC / NO - programmable\r\n\r\ns e l e c t i o n t a b l e\r\nType sn (mm) Adjustable\r\n\r\nrange\r\nDC AC Min. diameter\r\nof the hole\r\nOrder Number\r\nSBW 001 55 10 … 80 mm x 160 mm ∅ 94.046 510.001\r\nSBW 051 55 10 … 80 mm x 160 mm ∅ 94.046 510.051\r\nMounting plate required for type SBW 001 / 051 96.048 808.001\r\nSBW 002 70 10 … 110 mm x 250 mm ∅ 94.046 510.002\r\nSBW 052 70 10 … 110 mm x 250 mm ∅ 94.046 510.052\r\nMounting plate for type SBW 002 / 052, complete with plastic rear cover 96.048 808.002\r\nSBW 003 120 20 … 150 mm x 400 mm ∅ 94.046 510.003\r\nSBW 053 120 20 … 150 mm x 400 mm ∅ 94.046 510.053\r\nMounting plate for type SBW 003 / 053, complete with plastic rear cover 96.048 808.003\r\nsn (mm) = Rated operating distance, related to steel ST 37. For other metals a reduction factor must be considered:\r\nV 4 A: sn x 0,65 - Al: sn x 0,4 - Cu: sn x 0,45 - Ms: sn x 0,6\r\nNote: The switches types SBW 002 / 052 and SBW 003 / 053 may become operated by means of movable metal parts inf luencing the\r\nswitch from the side or from the back. To avoid this fault operation we recommend to protect the switch with a plastic cover.\r\n\r\ni n s t a l l a t i o n\r\n\r\nThe assembly consists of the inductive proximity switches, the\r\nconnecting cable and a flame resistant mounting plate, together\r\nwith a gasket, a plastic rear cover and a set of fixing screws.\r\nA hole must be cut in both sides of the chute wall of the bucket\r\nelevator. The holes at the headpulley as well as those at the\r\ntailpulley should be cut in the travel line of the buckets.\r\nSince the switches are designed for a non-flush mounting a metalfree\r\narea should be considered around the switch (please refer to\r\nthe selection table: min. diam.).\r\nThe mounting plates with their gaskets shall be placed on the\r\nopenings in such a way that they fully cover and seal the holes.\r\nThe mounting plates are fixed by means of the supplied screws.\r\nFor further information please refer to the mounting instructions.\r\n\r\no p e r a t i n g m o d e s\r\n\r\nSwitches in AC -Mode to fit in relay/contactor-circuits\r\nUp to 4 switches can operate in series when using the NC-mode.\r\nThe voltage drop of each switch amounts to 6 volts.\r\nSwitches in DC -Mode -\r\nprotected against short- circuits and wrong polarity\r\nUp to 4 switches can operate as well in series when using the NCmode\r\nas in parallel when using the NO-mode. Switches in\r\nDC-mode are suitable to fit directly a PLC.
