Pepperl Fuchs Sensors > New innovative 2D Laser Scanner with advanced mirror technology

Pepperl and Fuchs have just released new 2D laser scanner equipped with a rotating measuring module which doesn't depend on a mirror mechanism to deflect the beam.

The measurement optics of the Pepperl Fuchs R2000 scanner uses mirror technology instead of the typical lenses and also the product is thought to create an identical light spot all over the measurement angles. The light spot diameter remains small even over large distances.

The new R2000 Pepperl Fuchs scanner has a low profile of just 20mm wide at distances to a maximum of 10m therefore it is simple to identify tiny objects in addition to positions and edge profiles.

The new Pepperl and Fuchs 2D scanner features a 360 degree measurement angle, a sampling rate of as high as 250,000 measurements per second and possesses a scanning frequency as high as 50Hz which makes it perfect for high-speed measurements.  It incorporates a big built in display therefore making it simple to commission the product using only a couple of buttons. The display also displays status messages and information for example distances and measurement profiles.

Commissioning is made even easier by way of a visible red laser beam. There are also switching outputs as well as an Ethernet interface.
