Weidmuller Voltage Testers >  New two pole voltage testers for surge protection Weidmuller Products.

Weidmuller have just released six new versions of a two-pole voltage tester that completely fulfil the standard for these types of testers such as DIN VDE 0682-401:2011 and DIN EN 61243-3-2010).

The revised standard for the two-pole voltage testers came into effect on 1st May 2010 and this took effect on the 1st October 2010.

The Weidmuller voltage tester is the only test instrument that has been approved to determine safe isolation from the power supply that complies with occupational health and safety law. The standard which covers two pole voltage testers wanted a lot of changes to be made, which would affect the protection class, voltage category as well as climatic conditions also the EMC compliance. Weidmueller’s new voltage testers are not coming into the market with minimum IP54 rating of protection they have IP65 rating of protection. This means that they offer protection against dust and jets of water therefore providing a very high level of protection.

The Weidmuller two-pole voltage testers Digi check Pro, Digi tech, Multi-check, Combi check Pro as well as Combi check are CAT IV-600V instruments whereas the Master-check belongs to the category CAT-IV-400V.

Therefore they are perfect for measuring circuits that are electronically connected with a low voltage system, they're perfect for measurements in building installations. Weidmuller’s brand new voltage testers are temperature- resistant from 15°c to +45°c. To help to protect both humans as well as the environment the requisite tests to guarantee electromagnetic compatibility were improved to comply with the new standards.

Weidmuller’s high quality versions Digi-check Pro and Combi check pro set the bar with the regard to their range of functions, the other four versions Digi-Check, Multi check, Combi Check and Master check, these focus more on functional highlights to offer value for money performance.

Weidmuller’s Digi Check Pro, Digi-check and Multi check come with a big LC display which includes a  bargraph, the display of the Combi-Check Pro, Combi Check and Master Check, these have a row of LED’s  as well as having a light sensor in the LC display which only activates the background lighting when in dark surroundings to improve the service life of the battery. There is also a white LED that brightly illuminates the measuring point, compared to yellow LED’s, white LEDs allow colours to be recognised more easily as well as using less power.

If you need to measure something that has a poor line of sight then the hold function means that you can hold and read measurements later on. Weidmuller’s two-pole phase sequence test function means direct indication for both clockwise and counter-clockwise rotation. Depending on the version, the large measuring range covers 400,500 or 690v- with direct altering currents which are recognised automatically. Weidmuller’s two-pole testers will automatically recognise whether the voltage is AC or DC under test as well as indicating polarity. As well as phase testing to earth, continuity and semi conductor tests, which are possible using one hand, also belong in indispensible wide range of tests. High input resistance guarantees safe touch protection.
